Vintage Japanese Tin Whistle- Animal Boat- Pig, Cat, Dog and Rabbit in Canoe

This has always been one of my favorite vintage Japanese post war whistles. A colorful scene shows four animals out in a canoe. The dog and rabbit are doing the paddling while a cat waves merrily and a pig, leaning on the rabbit and impeding her paddling work, takes a snooze in the back of the boat. The words Animal Boat are on the mouthpiece.

The whistle is 2 inches (5.2 cm) wide and 1 and 5/8 inches (4 cm) tall. It has a pleasant tone. Condition is very good with bright colors and a shiny surface. The plain metal back has darkened a bit with age.
