Pre-War Japan Tin Ratchet Noisemaker-Jazz Dancers and Musician

This tin pre-war Japanese ratchet noisemaker is an oval cylinder with a wooden handle. The images decorating the surface are of a singing guitar player, a blond woman doing an energetic Charleston, and a scantily dressed person of color beating a conga drum (Josephine Baker?).

Garlands of flowers and flags of Britain, the USA and Japan hang overhead.

Condition is very good with some light scratches and scrapes in the litho on the surface. The colors are bright. Twirling it while holding the wooden handle produces a moderately loud sound.

The ratchet noisemaker is 4.75 inches (12 cm) tall and 2 inches (5 cm) wide.
