Vintage Early Post War Japanese Tin Friction Blue Taxi
This early post war Japanese friction powered tin car is a blue Taxi. It is marked Japan just under the rear license plate.
This friction tin car rolls forward on two tin rubber edged rear drive wheels and two tin front wheels. The car has bumpers front and rear and embossed details on the hood. Litho details include a driver and a female passenger seen thru the split front windscreen and the side windows. The word TAXI is printed across the hood.
The car is 4 inches (10.16 cm) long and 1.75 inches (4.4 cm) wide. Height to the top of the roof is 1.25 inches (3.17 cm). The friction mechanism works well. Colors are bright. The plain tin underside of the car has darkened with age.
Condition overall is very good. There are small chips and some scrapes in the litho as these un-sold old stock cars may have bumped into each other in their group box .
