Early Post War Eight Card Menko Sheet- Samurai and Cowboy, Indian Western Scenes

This early postwar vintage un-cut sheet of 8 Japanese menko cards is printed on a heavy weight cardboard. The menko sheet is 3.5 inches (8.89 cm) wide and 10.5 inches (26.67 cm) tall.. Each menko card is different.

Condition is un-cut, unused new/old stock. Colors are bright with a matte front surface. The backs of the cards show numbers, the hand signs, Japanese writing, and images of a cowboy hat, six guns, an Indian in war bonnet and money bags on the Western cards and a helmet, sword, oni mask and some thing I do not recognise on the Samurai cards. These are printed in a single color of ink (dark green).

     Different Japanese Samurai are fighting on four of the cards.The other four show a cowgirl (Teku Sasu), Indian (Indean), Cowboy (Hotntai) and Cowboy (Kenju). The colors and artwork are fabulous on these early cards.

Condition is very good to excellent on this un-cut menko card sheet. Light foxing on right back edge.
